Environmental Economics and Public Policy Seminar Series, featuring Jisung Park
October 31, 2019 @ 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm
Jisung Park is an environment and labor economist interested in research that can inform policy. Currently, Park is an assistant professor of public policy at UCLA. He received his PhD in economics at Harvard University.
Park’s research is motivated by a desire to better understand the ways environmental externalities such as climate change affect economic mobility, particularly in the context of human capital and labor market outcomes, as well as to inform the design of efficient and equitable economic policy.
Methodologically, his work seeks to combine microeconomic theory with quasi-experimental research designs to uncover causal relationships between environmental factors and economic outcomes, and to assess the impact of policies designed to mitigate these relationships.
